📐 This is where your dream home starts to become real.
Construction drawings are more than just plans, they're your opportunity to make sure your home works for the way you live.

Before you sign off, take the time to walk through your home on paper. Picture yourself making breakfast in the kitchen, unloading the groceries, entertaining friends, helping the kids with homework or relaxing at the end of the day. ☕

🤔 Can I still make changes to my plans?
Yes. Changes are much easier and more affordable before construction begins. Once engineering, approvals or construction are underway, changes can affect costs and timelines.

🤔 What should I check before approving my plans?
Walk through your home on paper before you sign off. Think about how you'll use each space every day, not just how it looks. For example, when we built our own home, we realised afterwards that our ensuite wasn't as practical as it could have been. When you walk in, you step almost straight into the shower area, there's not much room to move, the bath mat gets caught under the door and you nearly bump the shower screen. Looking back, we would have swapped the shower and toilet locations. 🙄 On the other hand, one thing we absolutely love is our walk-through pantry connecting the kitchen and laundry. We can put on a load of washing, unpack the groceries, stack the dishwasher and prepare meals all in one practical space. It keeps the busy part of our day in one area, and the rest of the house feels calm and uncluttered. 👏

🤔 What happens after my construction drawings are complete?
Your plans are generally used for energy assessments, structural engineering, approvals and preparing your final construction pricing.
~
🤔 Do I need to choose all my finishes before the drawings are complete?
Not always. Some selections can be made later, but major design decisions, such as room layouts, window locations and structural elements, should be finalised before your plans are completed.
~
🤔 What if I can't visualise the plans?
That's completely normal. Ask your builder and designer about 3D renders or walkthroughs.
